Midlands Performance Centres - Closure

England Hockey has now implemented a new structure for junior performance hockey. Due to the recent restructuring of the hockey regions within the country Midlands Performance Centres is no longer able to function as it has for many years, up to and including the 2020-21 season.

England Hockey has been sending updates to all current PC players about the changes and we suggest that you read these updates to ensure you know how the changes will affect you. The main impact will be that the 2021-22 season will be the final year of Performance Centres before the new structure is implemented. Details can be found on the England Hockey website.

The majority of coaches at the three Midlands PC training centres will remain in post for this final season so you are unlikely to see a difference on the pitch, and we are aware that a few Team Managers will be re-appointed as Centre Managers. These Centre Managers and the Head Coaches will be responsible for communicating with players for the remaining 2021-22 PC season. England Hockey are in the process of appointing Centre Managers to cover all the Midlands training centres and we kindly ask that you are patient whilst these appointments are finalised.

The existing support team including the Administrator, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Performance Director and Chair are standing down from Midlands PC at this time, but please be assured that this has not been as a result of the changes made by England Hockey - we have all spent a considerable numbers of years supporting Midlands Hockey and the thousands of players who have been through the system, and we had all planned that 2020-21 would be our final season.

We wish all our players, past and present, all the very best for the future.

Junior hockey within the Midlands is now under the direct control of Midlands Hockey, the website is midlands.hockey. Please be advised that the Midlands Hockey website is currently being updated to take into account the changes to the structure of hockey.

Midlands Hockey also has a Twitter account and can be found here - @midlands_hockey

We have now deleted the Midlands PC Facebook page and the Midlands PC Twitter feed will be deleted in due course. This website will remain in place whilst the transition to the start of the new 2021-22 season is carried out.
